Lantana, Florida is a small coastal community (just 3 square miles within the city limits) about 10 miles south of Palm Beach. Incorporated as a small fishing village in 1921, the town was known for its oysters in the early part of the last century. Waterfront homes on Hypoluxo Island, which is the section of Lantana located on the barrier island separating Lake Worth and the Atlantic Ocean, often feature large lots and deepwater dockage. Waterfront properties on the west side of the Intracoastal offer wide views of Lake Worth. Many of these properties are condominiums with resort style amenities.
Lantana’s main street, Ocean Avenue, retains the charm of its origins with shops and restaurants housed in historic homes. The town of Lantana has its own oceanfront beach with services, as well as a boat launch, kayak park and fishing pier.
